If you are looking for a dining experience that is extra special, then the Il Gabbiano might be your ideal spot. With stunning views over the bay and Miami South Channel river, you can enjoy a fantastic meal for two people without breaking the bank. Described as having a true Italian class, we’d recommend trying both the bruschetta and veal dishes. Il Gabbiano also makes their own fresh pasta daily.

16 floors above Miami, you’ll find this luxurious cocktail and dining spot. Sit outside on the heated terrace at sunset and you can enjoy watching the cityscape change from daytime to nighttime before your eyes. This view never gets old to us, we love looking out across the busy Miami skyline whilst enjoying fantastic food. In terms of dishes, we’d recommend any of the seafood options which is their core specialty, but particularly, the Islamorada Swordfish.

Nestled directly on the coast, you can’t get much closer to the water’s edge if you tried. Smith & Wollensky have been serving up fantastic steaks since they first opened their doors. The steaks are hand butchered and dry aged on site so you know that, for your dollars, you are definitely getting an artisanal piece of meat. If you’re a vegetarian, fear not, there is still plenty to choose from on the menu. Our veggie-favorite is the split-pea soup followed by the traditional Mac and Cheese.

This time, we swap our relaxed boho vibes for the ultra-modern and slick Juvia. This rooftop bar and restaurant has views that will take your breath away. Head there just in time for sunset for the best panoramic views. There is a sophisticated menu that perfectly matches the ambiance and makes for an ideal romantic dinner spot. We’d recommend the seafood dishes, particularly the lobster and sea bass. If you have children and think that this menu might be too rich for them don’t panic because the kid’s menu on offer has excellent bento box choices which they will love.

Miami Tour Guide

Alexander Gorn

Alexander Gorn

I was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, in the Soviet Union, and left for the USA when I was 23 years old, just out of college. Leningrad was and still is a city with great cultural traditions. I fell in love with its world-famous museums, art galleries, theaters, and other attractions. I have been guiding tours for most of my life and began while still in high school. During the summer, Leningrad was visited by numerous youth groups from the UK and USA and English-speaking students were recruited to show them around. That is how I got my first taste of being a tour guide. I continued guiding through college and often worked with young adults. After leaving the USSR, I settled in New York City, went to graduate school, and started my own travel company in 1985. We primarily worked with international visitors showing them famous places of interest all over the country, from coast to coast. Though I had other tour guides working at my company, I continued to guide because it was rewarding and enjoyable. I traveled extensively throughout the country and that's how I first became acquainted with South Florida. I instantly fell in love with this beautiful place and eventually moved to the Miami Beach area. I love South Florida and want my tourists to feel the same way. I am exhilarated by its nature and history and I promise to get you excited as well. See you in Miami!
