The water park offers pools, a water bar, and a 30-foot slide. Once you’ve had your fun, you can relax in the bade pool, which has whirlpool jets to help relieve sore muscles. Widowmaker Trail Rides has quite the scary name, but in reality is a wrangler-led horse riding adventure. Book an appointment and meet your wrangler at Walnut Grove Trail on Lake Grapevine. During your two-hour trek on the trail, you’ll pass through dense woods and meadows, and also ride along a creek and a lake’s shoreline. We recommend trying to book a ride at sunset for an ultra-romantic experience.

5. The Kessler Theater

For a more titillating outing, look no further than Viva Dallas Burlesque. The shows take place at Viva’s Lounge on the first and third Saturday of each month, and mix theatre, comedy, dance, and striptease. Burlesque performers from around the US come to perform, and each performance has its own theme, from classic burlesque to sci-fi. While there’s no food available there is a bar so you can enjoy a drink while you watch the show. Those putting on the show say you can wear what makes you feel comfortable so you’ll catch people wearing jeans and T-shirts alongside people in 1950s-style garb. So turn up as you like and prepare for a dazzling and exciting show!
