There are souvenir shops right along the beach that you can visit if you’re looking for gift options or keepsakes for yourself. Among the items that you can find here are handicrafts, apparel, jewelry, and spices. Pro tip: if you’re good at bargaining, try to negotiate the prices of the items that you want to buy with the seller to get good discounts.

Bring water

As with other areas, it’s better to have your own supply of clean drinking water so you don’t have to worry about dealing with an upset stomach. Packing your own snacks wouldn’t hurt, either.

Wear sun protection

Sunblock, sunglasses, and a hat should all be packed in your bag if you’re planning to spend a few hours on the beach.

When to visit

The best time to visit Serenity Beach is between October and March. The winter season that sees calm waves and pleasant weather. Try to avoid heading here from April to July, especially if you’re not used to hot, dry weather.

Bring beach towels

Certainly, those who are managing the beach try as much as they can to keep the area clean, but for your own peace of mind, do make sure that you bring beach towels that you can sit on. Be sure to bring a change of clothes as well if you’re planning to go swimming.

By air

Pondicherry has its own airport, which is located about 10 km (6.2 mi) from Serenity Beach. You can get a cab right from the airport to take you to the beach.

By train

If you’re taking the train, the closest station is at Villupuram, which is approximately 50 km (30 mi) away. There are cabs there that you can get to take you to Serenity Beach.

By bus

There’s a bus terminal located at the center of Pondicherry, which is about 10 km (6.2 mi) from Serenity Beach. There are also cabs available at the station if you want to get a ride to get to the beach.

By cab

As mentioned earlier, there are cabs in the area that you can hail to take you to and from Serenity Beach. It is also possible for you to make arrangements with the cab driver to take you around the entire day.

By car

There are car rental services available if you want to drive yourself. There is a parking lot right along Serenity Beach with plenty of spots so you shouldn’t have to worry about where you’ll be leaving your rental while you’re having fun at the beach.
