Mill Creek Shopping Center is situated across Ocean Street from Mill Creek Park. With its friendly and warm atmosphere, you’re always going to feel welcome at this shopping center. Located just across Maine Mall, this little plaza is a great way to get your shopping done away from the hustle-bustle of Maine Mall. It’s convenient and has your necessities covered, from a little clothes shopping, home décor, arts and crafts, food and even your quick coffee fix. Tenants include the first-ever Nordstrom Rack in Maine, Target, AC Moore Sprint, Applebees, Starbucks, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and a food court with delectable offerings. Due to its many offerings, the plaza does often get packed, so we recommend coming on weekdays if you’re not a fan of crowded places.

4. Union Station Plaza Shopping Center

Union Station Plaza Shopping Center isn’t your ordinary mall; it’s a historical building rich in culture. Built in 1888, the building first served as a train station connecting people between Boston and Maine. On the 30th of October, 1960, it closed down as a train station and since then, has become a shopping center. The 110,000-square-foot shopping center is constantly being revamped to offer a better shopping experience for its customers. Tenants of the shopping center include Maine Hardware; Portland’s largest hardware store, Sav-A-Lot; a large discount supermarket, Dollar General, and Buckdancer’s Choice Music; Portland’s oldest selling musical instruments store. They’ve also got mini restaurants serving sandwiches, Asian food, Mexican, and other delicious variants.
