Arcade Providence has been gracing the city landscape since 1828, making it one of the oldest indoor malls in Providence, Rhode Island and the entire nation. It has undergone several intensive renovations to give it the chic and urban look you see today. Currently, it houses a total of 48 micro-loft apartments on the two upper floors, while the ground and first floors are reserved for shopping. On the two lower floors, you will find several small business retailers vending a variety of goods and services, including several local food restaurants. The venue is a great place to laze around if you don’t have any definite plans for the afternoon.

The Crossing at Smithfield is a 640,000-square-foot (59,457 sq m) shopping facility located a little way out of town but still easily accessible since it is just off Interstate 295. The mall has an exciting blend of stores, with some of the notable names being Barnes & Noble, Home Depot, Kohl’s, and Target, among others. It is also the home to Dave’s Fresh Marketplace, which happens to be among the largest independent grocery stores in the state of Rhode Island. Since the mall is just off a major highway and has ample parking, it is a preferred shopping destination for people traveling in and around the city.
