On the mouth of Chesapeake Bay by the Atlantic Ocean lies Virginia Beach. With miles and miles of beach and hotels along the shorelines, the city is one of the most popular in the state and surrounding area for vacations. It is a haven for sun and fun—with surfing championships yearly and gorgeous hotels and restaurants on the boardwalk. The area is also historically important as nearby Cape Henry was the site of the first landing by English settlers in 1607.
