It's all about the location

The location is enticing and all you have to do to be amongst it all is to cross a single street. You can choose either to head to the Wharf and Te Papa Museum or the Cuba Street shopping area in the other direction. It is near all tourist attractions as well as other important facilities such as the New Zealand parliament buildings.
Get a great night's sleep with your choice of pillows!

Friendly reception and a welcoming lobby area are highlights of the hotel, and valet parking (for an extra 12 USD a night) tops it off.
Towering at 17 storeys high, Rydges guarantees you exceptional views from the city to the hills beyond. Each room boasts a host of comfortable and spacious areas, including a bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom. The bedroom area has a TV located on the opposite wall from the bed so you can relax in comfort and enjoy the latest shows. Rydges offers a range of different pillows to suit each customer, the lavender choice is bliss. The bathroom offers a shower and a bathtub and a good sized basin area.
The executive suites at the 15th and the 16th storeys come highly recommended. These rooms are well equipped with a studio style layout and a kitchenette and spacious bathroom area. Each room on these levels has its own balcony so you can enjoy the scenery and also the famous Wellington winds.
There is a safe, iron and an iPad compatible alarm clock. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all rooms and staff will provide instructions to access this. The hotel has a comprehensive website with a range of contact options, either by email or phone.
The location is great and so is the food!!

Room service is offered, but dining in the Rydges onsite restaurant, the Portlander, is recommended. Lunch, dinner and dessert are offered in the restaurant until 10.30 pm and anytime thereafter you can order room service. Check the website for the latest menu options and be sure to look for special deals that include a breakfast buffet. If you can, you must try the buffet once, it is one of the best offered that I have personally seen. Anything from eggs freshly cooked to your preference, spirulina shots, smoothies, pancakes and a range of pastries and breads is a small sample of the wide selection.
There is a bar located next to the restaurant, which has a range of drink options to suit all people. Grab a comfy spot and a “Lichitini” cocktail and sit back and enjoy!
Everything you need is here!
There are enough facilities within the hotel that you never really need to leave if you don’t want to. There is a pool on the second floor with a small gym, a sauna and spa pool. This area is usually busy throughout the day till 8 pm with families, but it is still worth checking out.
Over the road from Rydges is a gas station, and a hairdressers is located right next door to the main entry.
Parking is a little tricky if you are not using valet and probably the only downfall, but if you don’t have your car with you, it’s a perfect walking distance to key attractions.
Room prices start from 159 NZD (117.50 USD) with a range of options, whether it’s for a quick stop-over, family holiday or couples retreat, whichever you choose will surely delight!
