Siem Reap is one of Cambodia’s most sought-after destinations, providing a convenient base from which to explore the magnificent ruins of Angkor Archaeological Park, with splendid sights such as the headline Angkor Wat, the Bayon, and Ta Prohm. Pub Street is one of the busiest tourist areas of Siem Reap, with plenty of restaurants and bars, as well as numerous accommodation and shopping options.

If you want to stay somewhere that is within easy reach of the lively Pub Street, yet far enough removed that you can retreat to a place of peacefulness when you just want to relax and take it easy, Siem Reap Temple Villa might be just what you are looking for.

Different room sizes to suit different needs

Siem Reap Temple Villa offers guests a choice between single rooms, twin rooms (for two people with two single beds), and family rooms with a capacity for three people sleeping between one double bed and one single bed, or up to five people in two double beds and one single bed. Whether you’re travelling alone, as a twosome, with a group of friends, or as a family, you should be able to find a room, or combination of rooms, to accommodate your party.

Prices are fairly reasonable, with rates between 20 USD (approximately 80,320 KHR) and 40 USD (approximately 160,640 KHR) per night.

Comfortable rooms with good amenities

All rooms have a private bathroom, complete with hot water showers, and you’ll probably find the air-conditioning most welcome in the Cambodian heat.

The beds are reasonably comfortable, though some people may find the firm mattresses a bit too hard. Vibrant bed runners, cushions, and wall hangings add splashes of colour to the rooms, showcasing traditional Cambodian designs. Attractive pictures also hang on the walls, and extra touches, like colourful table lamps and plants help to give the rooms a homely and welcoming air.

Large windows let plenty of light in, and the pale walls help to make the rooms feel bright and airy. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the twin rooms are pretty spacious. Other room amenities include cable TV, a desk, and a chair. Some rooms have balconies.

Other features that might entice you to stay here

A major draw for many people who want a few added luxuries along with backpacker prices is the big onsite swimming pool. Complete with sun loungers for chilling out and working on your tan and overhanging trees to provide shade during the hottest times of the day, you can spend time relaxing and unwinding after a busy day of sightseeing. Or, why not treat yourself to a day off to properly recharge your batteries?! Unfortunately, it rained most of the time during the time of visit, so we were unable to fully appreciate the pool … it looked pretty though!

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, although the signal may be a little weak on the upper levels of the building.

A free breakfast is included in the room rate, with basic items such as toast, fruit, eggs, and tea and coffee to set you up for the day ahead. You can also enjoy a selection of Cambodian cuisine, such as Khmer curries and baguettes, as well as international dishes at other times throughout the day.

Staff can assist with booking trips, including to see the famous temples of Angkor, and with onwards transportation.

Just a short walk from Pub Street and Angkor Night Market

You can easily walk from Siem Reap Temple Villa to Pub Street and the large Angkor Night Market in around ten minutes. Many tuk tuk (three-wheeled motorised vehicle similar to an auto-rickshaw) drivers wait outside and will try to take you there, but you really don’t need any transportation.

The night market is a great place to browse a selection of clothes, souvenirs, and handicrafts, although, in all honesty and in common with many tourist hotspots, you would probably find similar products elsewhere for lower prices.

Stay at Siem Reap Temple Villa for affordable room rates, good facilities, a peaceful atmosphere, and just a short walk from the main hive of local activity.
