A stunning beach on the west coast, Tropicana makes for a perfect place to spend the day. Playing in the turquoise beach water, walking on the pristine sand, soaking in the afternoon sun rays, and savoring the gorgeous sunset are just some of the experiences awaiting you here. With the spectacular water, activities such as jet-skiing, banana boat rides, and snorkeling are popular here. The beautiful coral reef and abundant marine life provide ample opportunity for scuba diving too.
As for surf conditions, be sure not to surf at low tide since the barreling is quite shallow.

2. Dover Beach, Saint Lawrence Gap

Beautiful white sand with crystal clear water, lovely to walk along and relax, makes for the perfect tourist destination. A great place for regular surfing and body surfing, this tranquil beach is picture perfect. Other water sports that you can pursue here include jet-skiing, windsurfing, and snorkeling. You can even enjoy swimming with the turtles.
The beach also has good food outlets and convenient amenities such as picnic tables, beach chairs, umbrellas, and loungers. The Sunday night karaoke at the nearby Dover Beach Hotel is the icing on the cake.

3. Maycocks Bay

Multiple cliffs and fabulous views attract people to Maycocks Bay. It is located in the northwest part of Barbados. A vantage point up the cliff offers panoramic views of the water and you might also be able to spot some whales during the season. While this beach has ideal and reliable conditions for surfing, it is not suitable for swimming given the strong currents. You are also likely to spot enthusiastic kite boarders and kite surfers here.
Additionally, there are plenty of good dive spots around while the reefs are perfect for a snorkeling adventure. Also, rumor has it that treasure was buried here, particularly in Maycock’s Fort, so you might want to keep an eye out.

4. Bathsheba

Bathsheba, located on Barbados’ west coast, is famous for its dramatic rock formations. This pretty place set in a quaint fishing village is a dream come true for photographers and surfers. Don’t forget to check out the rich marine life here and pick exquisite seashells.
There are plenty of shady spots around if you want to relish a picnic. A favored spot for surfing, the beach allows surfers with different levels of experience. Home to Soup Bowl, Barbados’ most famous wave, it also regularly hosts well-known surfing tournaments.

5. South Point

South Point, located along the south coast of the island, is a great place for surfing. Helpful and friendly teachers from Burkie’s Surf School train and teach both beginners and advanced surfers here. They even provide amazing coaching for learners of varying ages.
This place is also very popular with surfers given its fairly consistent and favorable waves. The strong current here, however, makes it unsuitable for swimming. When not surfing, you can visit the charming South Point lighthouse, the oldest one in Barbados.

6. Freights Bay

An ideal location and excellent water conditions make this a top surf spot on the south coast of Barbados. A walk along the coastline can also be enjoyable since you can savor gorgeous views of the sunset here. Surf schools impart regular surfing lessons in the area, making it a great place for beginners. The lessons even come at a reasonable price. Additionally, the waves are moderate and perfect to pick up the sport.

This beachside destination is well known for its fine white sand, crystal clear water, and swaying palm trees. Soak in the sun as you keep an eye out for sea turtles on the shore. 8. Crane Beach

This clean, golden-sand beach with calm waves is a very peaceful place located close to the cruise port. Some parts of the beach are rocky but it is a fantastic spot to catch the spectacular sunrise and sunset views. You can also watch sea turtles coming to nest here. This place is popular with those on the quest for adventurous water sports. Surfing and snorkeling are the most pursued water activities here given the favorable conditions.
