History of the Dylan Hotel
The contemporary landmark building of the Dylan Hotel was once the nurses’ home for the Royal City of Dublin Hospital. The five-star boutique hotel, located in a peaceful area near bustling Baggot Street, is in the exclusive Victorian neighborhood of Dublin 4. Opened in 2006, the hotel also built a large building next to the 100-year-old nurses’ home. The boutique hotel opened with just 44 deluxe rooms.
The Dylan neighborhood
The Dylan Hotel is located just south of the Grand Canal in Dublin. This southern part of the city center is within walking distance to the famous Grafton Street shopping and restaurant area and St. Stephen’s Green. The prestigious area is predominantly a residential area; however, many top restaurants, hotels, and embassies can be found in the area. A short leisurely stroll will bring you to Aviva Stadium and RDS Arena where concerts, conferences, and sporting events take place.
The luxurious rooms
With a major renovation now complete, guests can enjoy 72 sophisticated rooms in the hotel. The hotel has added 28 rooms to the original 44 rooms. Custom designed pieces of furniture with chrome, gold, and brass accent pieces intermingle throughout the rooms bringing style and sophistication to the elegant architecture. All the rooms are unique with fabrics and furniture; therefore, all 72 rooms have 72 different headboards.
The lush color design along with the oak wooden floors give the chic rooms a relaxing feel. The bathrooms have been outfitted with state of the art mood lighting. Your feet will stay warm with the underfloor heating throughout all the rooms. You can choose from 47 Style Rooms, 16 Luxury Rooms, 8 Experience Suites, and 1 Signature Suite.
The Dylan Hotel restaurants and amenities
The award-winning Tavern restaurant offers modern Irish food combined with traditional practices to present guests with elegantly created dishes. They only use fresh local ingredients in all their dishes. The Dylan offers a variety of menus: breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, afternoon tea, vegetarian, and group.
Dylan bar has an elegant and relaxing feel for guests and non-guests to enjoy. It has a lively lunch atmosphere and a relaxed evening with a mix of trendy, groovy music playing. Enjoy some drinks here from the cocktail menu along with something tasty from the bar menu.
If you prefer to sit outside, there are two terraces available. The terrace in the front of the hotel will offer more sun and the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. The terrace in the back of the building is secluded, offering a New York terrace meets Japanese Garden feel. Here there are heaters for cool nights and it has an extendable awning cover for the rainy moments. The back terrace also offers lounge seating and two TVs.
