1. Albacete Provincial Museum
The Museo de Albacete is a mixture of fine art and ancient archaeology, making it an interesting visit for all. Located in an attractive park, the museum offers exhibits of Paleolithic and Neolithic artefacts, as well as Roman and pre-Roman items. There is also a range of Iberian sculpture on display. The Benjamin Palencia section of the museum offers many 20th century artworks, including paintings by local contemporary artists.

2. Abelardo Sanchez Urban Park
The Abelardo Sanchez Urban Park is located in the centre of Albacete and is the largest urban park in the region. Considered to be the “lungs” of the city, the park is a beautiful and leafy space with many pine trees, horse chestnut trees and banana trees. The gardens offer a range of shrubs and flowers and there is abundant bird life in the park. Cute red squirrels can be seen climbing the trees and tucking into the pineapples that grow in the gardens. There is also an attractive pond with ducks.

3. Municipal Museum Of Cutlery

Housed in an ornate and attractive building, the Museo Municipal de la Cuchillería de Albacete is an unusual and interesting visit. On display are knives, scissors and razors dating back over the years, along with various documents related to the city and the ancient knife tradition there. Among the documents on display are descriptions of the artisans and labourers who made the knives.

4. Parque De Los Jardinillos
Jardinillo Park is one of the oldest in Albacete and is close to the fairgrounds and bullring in the city. The entrance is found via the Old Iron Gate of the city and the spacious green area houses several species of trees, including pines, elms, poplars and banana trees. On the central avenue of the park, there is a pond with a fountain and water lily motifs, which are located next to a 19th-century style pavilion, used for outdoor concerts, especially during the city’s annual fair.

5. Museo Municipal de Albacete
The Municipal Museum of Albacete was originally the city’s town hall. It is an ornate building, with a central clock tower, located in the city centre. The first floor is used as a venue for conferences and civil weddings, but there are also various exhibition halls in the building, including a permanent exhibition called Popular Art of the World.

6. Museo Pedagógico Y Del Niño De Albacete
The Pedagogical and Child Museum of Castilla-La Mancha is found in the centre of Albacete. The museum is located in the east wing of the former girl’s school, Virgen de los Llanos, in the hospital district of the city. Regularly visited by groups of school children, the museum is also open to the public. On display are historic classrooms from the Bourbon Restoration period through the Franco regime. On display are also historic children’s games, toys, comics, clothing and puppets.

7. Vía Verde Sierra De Alcaraz Albacete
This delightful walking and cycling path takes visitors from the Canal del Acequion to Balazote, through a rural area of Albacete. Considered a pilgrimage route, the non-motorized road heads from the city, through the natural area of the Sierra de Alcaraz.

8. Puerta de Hierros de Albacete
The Puerta de Hierros de Albacete is a monumental gateway to Albacete and also the main entrance to the city’s historic fairground. One of the most emblematic symbols of the city, the gate is opened on September 7th each year, while the annual Feria de Albacete (fair) runs up until September 17.

9. Museo Etnologico Popular
This fascinating museum displays historic objects from the rural areas of Albacete. Items on display give a history of the common people in the area. The museum is located in the cloister of the Convent of Our Lady of the Remedies, in the cells of the former Trinitarian friars.
