The Highland Lake Squadron museum was chartered on the 5th of April, 1992. It details the history of the Highland Lakes Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force. The museum has on display various artifacts that were obtained from several sources, including donations by local veterans and their families. Some of artefacts in the museum came from active participants in various past duties, including a P-38 pilot who was shot down and spent time in German prisoner of war camps, a B-17 gunner who toured occupied Europe, volunteers who never returned from missions, and a B-17 pilot who went for more than 25 missions over Europe.
