Myatt’s Field Park is a 14-acre (5.7 hectares) Victorian park. This tranquil and beautiful park is community-run and was voted one of the top 10 best-loved parks in Britain. The park also has an extremely rich history and was first opened in 1889, where it was originally part of a 109-acre (44.1 hectares) estate. During World War I, the park housed a military hospital, and in World War II, trenches were dug there to shelter the locals from bombing. The park has since become a Conservation Area. Visit the park to enjoy nature and escape from the din and dust of the city. There is a community café, a playground with water play for kids, sports facilities, and a wildlife area. The wildlife area has a pond, fruit trees, woodland walk, and wildflower meadow. There is something to do for everyone at Myatt’s Field Park, so drop by to enjoy a peaceful day out in the sun.
