3. Climb up Crestone Ziggurat
The Ziggurat, a local landmark, rises from a rocky hill on the southeast edge of the Baca Grande. Elevated on the top of a small hill amidst the desert and the bright skies, it is the perfect place to get a full view of the cozy town. It’s a small town, but you’ll be taken back by the vastness of it. With air as pure as it can get and great views, it definitely is a rewarding trek. With its brick-red and brown walls blending perfectly with the surrounding cacti and desert, this is one of those places where you have a plethora of options to choose from. Plan ahead, stay for a week or more, and live free. The ashram and the temple are both very particular with the food–they serve both vegetarian and organic food, and that surely is a treat!
