A number of recreation, leisure, and cultural activities are afforded by Jefferson to the community, including summer programmes and after-school programmes for the youth, all of which is sponsored by the city all throughout the year. 2. Marvel at the works of Alan Bean in Wheeler residents
The museum is housed in the American Legion building. The exterior is flanked by a huge statue of Alan Bean, the fourth man to have landed on the moon. The museum displays exhibits of Wheeler County and its eminent residents such as dancer and actress Cyd Charisse and Apollo astronaut Alan L. Bean. Numerous paintings by Alan Bean are on display here. Entry to the museum is free, but there is a donation box where you can donate as much as you like. Some of the displays are in progress, promising the museum an up-gradation and facelift.

3. Let your kids enjoy at Egan Park
Your children are going to enjoy visiting Egan Park, and if you want to just take a stroll and enjoy the evening breeze, Egan Park is a good place to visit. It is a quiet, well-maintained and clean neighbourhood park. If you are expecting a number of walking trails or activities for adults, then this is not the place you should go. But, if you want to enjoy a nice green space and spend some time with your children, then you should pay a visit.

4. Tour East Point with East Point Historical Society
East Point Historical Society organises guided tours of East Point, Georgia to give the tourists an idea about the history and culture of the place. Get free admissions on specific days to explore museums and archives. The theatre is small and cosy and very supportive of local productions. D'essence Cafe is a great place to enjoy tasty prawns, pasta, pies, turkey, chicken wings, cupcakes (it is known for its cupcakes) and a cup of brewed coffee. The list can go on. They have great breakfast options, inclusive of bacon, ham, hash browns, fritters. The quality and the taste of the food is worth the money you will pay. Also, D'essence Cafe is known for its extraordinary service. It also serves great vegetarian food.

10. Check out the race at Dick Lane Velodrome
Dick Lane Velodrome is a banked concrete track for bicycle racing, set in Sumner Park in a residential area. It is a beautiful green track, with a creek running through the in-field. It was inspired by a few residents of the area who had visited the Munich Olympics. Here riding without brakes is a speciality. If you visit, you will see bikers riding at a speed of 40 mi (64 km) per hour with one gear and no brakes. You must come and watch a few exciting games.
