It is believed that the last occupants of the house were the Sewell family, and since 1838, the house has had no occupants. The legend of the house tells of a father who rejected his son due to political differences and the son ended up cursing the father on his death bed. It is believed that there is a family burial vault inside the house and also that it is a haunted place.
