4. Watch a live play at Southside Theatre Guild
Fairburn’s premier venue for the performing arts, Southside Theatre Guild, is one of the oldest community theaters around the area of Atlanta. The unique thing about Southside Theatre Guild is that it’s run and operated by volunteers! The plays are all performed by volunteers and the theater holds auditions for their different plays. The theater has been running shows since 1973 with its first run of the play “The Miracle Worker”. At present, they’ve performed nearly a hundred plays and new shows are already lined up. When you get hungry in Fairburn, the locals would usually recommend Judy’s Restaurant, especially for its home-cooked meals. They open as early as 5 am so it’s the perfect place to grab a good breakfast. They’re open until 2:30 pm so it’s also a great option for lunch. Enjoy nothing but the best of southern favorites like fried chicken, cornbread and biscuits. Be mindful of the peak hours though, because it tends to get really busy, but hey - this only means that the place is a must-try!

Perhaps the most popular tourist destination near Fairburn is the Georgia Renaissance Festival. The festival takes tourists back in time, specifically during 16th century England under the rule of Henry VIII, through a wide variety of related entertainment. All over the village, you’ll find jugglers, musicians, harlequins, fairies, peasants, and many more characters related to the theme. You can even cosplay and dress up as one of the characters!
