5. Take a trip to the museum of Bell Building

The Bell Building was built in 1904 and is known to be one of the historic sites in Alabama. It was the home of the first school in Fairhope named Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education. The school taught academic studies, handcrafts, singing, dancing, and art. Marietta Johnson was a visionary educator who believed that children need to learn art which would help them later in life. 6. Walk your dogs at Fairhope Dog Park

If you plan on bringing your dogs with you, the Fairhope Dog Park is the place to be. It is a well known dog-friendly park in Fairhope. There is a wide field for playing ball or running with dogs. Aside from the field, there is a wooded section to explore as well. You can enjoy hiking with your dog in the walking trails within the wooded section. The park is divided into an area for large dogs and small dogs. There is a kiddie pool if your dog wants to have a swim.

The house of Henry Stuart is located in Tolstoy Park, Fairhope. The small house in the middle of a parking lot was once called the wooden sanctuary of the “Hermit of Montrose”. It is already on the National Register of Historic Places. The house is made from bricks and concrete blocks. Henry Stuart built the house on his own despite being diagnosed with tuberculosis. During the last years of his life, he became a fixture in the community, inspiring many from the Eastern Shore.
