Cột mốc số 0 (Milestone KM 0) is located at the center of Ha Giang city proper on Nguyen Trai Street. It marks the distance from Hanoi to Ha Giang and the point of origin for exploring Ha Giang’s popular landmarks, such as Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, and Lung Cu Flag Tower. Currently, there are two pillars of milestones close to each other and are both accessible for taking photos. The old pillar retains its vintage look and appears smaller while the new column is made of marble and bigger. The new one also has wider coverage.

6. Take a glimpse of dazzling stalactites at Lung Cuy Cave

Lung Khuy Cave in the Quan Ba commune is known as the most beautiful cave in Ha Giang because of its stunning sculptures of stalactites. Such beauty was preserved by the local people in honor of an underlying legend. This legend is about how a cave god cripples anyone who breaks off a branch of the stalactites. The cave is encompassed by mountains at Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. It spans of 300 meters (984.3 feet) approximately. To reach the place, a motorbike ride is ideal from the Quan Ba district down to the Lung Khuy village.

7. Gaze at the symmetry of Fairy Mountain

Fairy Mountain of Quan Ba (Fairy Bosom or Twin Mountains) is a pair of mountains that are symmetrical in the shape of a female’s breasts. It sits between Dong Van Karst Plateau and rice terrace fields. It is accessed through a stop on Happiness Road, which is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away from Quan Ba Heaven Gate. Famous for its name, the impressive attraction is accompanied by a Hmong tale about a heaven fairy that left her pair of breasts to feed milk to her son on the land and later on became two mountains. Enjoy lovely views of rice and flower fields surrounding the mountains that change color in every season.

8. Try fishing at Water Park Ha Giang

Water Park Ha Giang is a permanently closed amusement park, but it is open to tourists who visit to take photos. It is a spacious park that has dressing rooms and swimming pools, but these pools are not accessible. Other travelers also try to go fishing at the park’s lake.

The landscape of buckwheat flower fields in full bloom seen from the foot of the rock plateau is a dazzling sight you will never forget. Hmong legend says that buckwheat flowers saved them from famine when rice and corn became scarce before. In October and November, a flower festival open to tourists is celebrated to showcase crafts, artworks, delicacies, and drinks from buckwheat flowers.

10. Climb the highest point at Lung Cu Flag Point

Lung Cu Flag Point is a territorial symbol of Vietnam’s sovereignty. It is situated in the Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district of Ha Giang province. It is a tower that stands at the mountaintop of Rong (Dragon mountain). It is embedded by a surround of Dong Son bronze, which depicts significant Vietnam historical periods and local customs of Ha Giang’s indigenous tribes. It will be worth a total of 529 steps to climb to the top just for panoramic views of the mountains, the legendary lakes at the foot of the mountains, and the Vietnam-China border.
