This trail extends from Pittsburgh to the mouth of the Columbia River near Oregon. Stretching about 4900 miles (7885.79 km), you do not have to go the entire length - doing that will take you here for three weeks to four weeks! Moses Grinter was one of the earliest settlers in Kansas. He was part of the community that established the very first ferry across the Kansas River. Their home is listed as a historical site. You can visit this place along with your family and learn more about the history of Kansas City. This home is reputedly the oldest farmhouse in all of Kansas. Almost every Kansas City resident knows the history and significance of the Rosedale Memorial Arch. The arch pays tribute to the brave, resilient, and selfless soldiers that gave their lives for the country during World War 1. The Arch was designed by John Marshall who at the time lived in Rosedale. The Arch needs to be visited to be understood. You cannot but feel awe and triumph at the selflessness of man when you stand beneath this monument to remember those brave soldiers. Aside from the Arch, another memorial was added just beneath the arc to remember those who died in later conflicts such as the Vietnam War and WWII.
