The historic place is dedicated to telling the story of how Africa’s oldest modern republic gained independence from its past colonizers. The ground floor of the museum displays a remarkable collection that provides a prologue to the country’s history and native tribes. This collection includes musical instruments, masks, as well as the throne that once belonged to William Tubman at the Masonic Temple. On the second and third floor visitors will find explanations of the country’s founding and struggles, including the Ebola epidemic that happened a few years ago.
