Although the church as we know it today was built in the early 1980s, another church previously stood on the site upon which it was constructed. Situated at the top of a hill, the church is not so easy to get to - you will need to climb over 300 steps just to reach the church itself! However, the breathtaking views make it well worth the effort. The Church of St. Elias is truly a sight to behold, especially in the evenings, when you can see its lights shine against the backdrop of the night sky.
