First opened in 1953, the National Zoo of El Salvador is home to over 600 animals and 117 different species today. It is a great place to visit with the whole family; kids and adults too will love discovering mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians, and learning about animals from veterinary specialists. The zoological park hosts a variety of activities, including guided tours and educational walks. The zoo has an excellent location, within walking distance from the Military Museum of the Armed Forces, several parks, and lots of coffee shops and restaurants.
