Once you get to the main courtyard, you will be amazed at an impressive collection of mosaics, sculptures and lapidaries, among other items. The Roman mosaics from the second and third centuries are among the best collection of the museum. Added with both artificial and natural lighting, the collection even looks more impressive. 3. Be amazed by the Great Mosque of Sousse

Your next stop should be Great Mosque of Sousse, a historical mosque that has become an important landmark of the city. Built in early ninth century within proximity of the Ribat, the most prominent feature of the mosque is perhaps the two watchtowers that were built facing the shore. The watchtowers were built to watch over assailants that could appear from anywhere, especially from the coast. You can also relax in the courtyard to admire the surrounding porticos with arcades. One thing that is unusual about this mosque is that you cannot find a minaret. Take note that if you are not a Muslim, you are not allowed to go beyond the courtyard.
