11. Go for a swim at Mermaid Cove

Mermaid Cove is a great spot for a swim, and can be accessed by a short walk from town. While the water here is crystal blue, do note that it is rocky and shallow, and might not be suitable for young kids.

In nearby Red Bay, there is a beautiful spot where you might catch a flight of monarch butterflies or wander through a cluster of lilies. The Chippewas of Nawash own Cape Croker Park, which is available to tourists for camping, boating, and hiking. The beautiful 520 acres (208 hectares) are lined by limestone bluffs and contain several different landscapes to explore.
