The Santo Antonio da Barra Fort and Nautical Museum reveals the history of Portuguese exploration in the fifteenth and the sixteenth centuries. The museum contains many historical artifacts which were once a part of an ancient ship that sank in the bay around the seventeenth century, only to be found three-hundred years later. There is also a lighthouse named Barra Lighthouse that provides wonderful scenic views of the ocean. Besides visiting this exciting museum and the lighthouse, tourists can also go surfing on the turbulent waves of the ocean.
