11 Best Airbnbs In Monterey, CA - Updated 2020

airbnb Monterey

The City of Monterey in Monterey County is situated on the southern edge of Monterey Bay - in the northern portion of California’s central coast. Monterey was the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico. What is Monterey famous for? Cannery Row is a must-see for Steinbeck fans. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a popular attraction, especially for those who may remember it from Star Trek VI. Here are some of the best Airbnbs in Monterey for a comfortable stay.

1. Cozy place in a quiet neighbourhood (46 USD)

This Monterey vacation rental is located close to 17-Mile Drive, Cannery Row, and Asilomar Beach. You will love this place because of the high ceilings, fireplace, and open kitchen. This room is good for couples and solo adventurers.

So my dad and I checked in here and we were suppose to arrive around 7pm, but we got done working at point reyes and arrived close to 11pm and Lee was so patient and so kind the whole entire time. We really couldn’t of asked for a better host. He greeted us with a warm smile, gave us recommendations, walked through the place with us. The photos made the place look a little small in my opinion, but when we got there, the area was pretty big! 10/10 would recommend to all my friends. Thank you, Lee, for being so kind! We appreciate you.

3. Spacious Victorian suite (84 USD)

The suite has an outside private entrance and includes a queen sized bed on a wooden antique frame, two comfortable reading chairs with a view of the garden, a large walk-in closet with luggage rack, private bath, and a TV with cable, along with other amenities.

Paul’s private room was in a wonderful location being only blocks away from Cannery Row and about a 10 minute drive to the scenic 17 Mile Drive through Pebble Beach. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay and really appreciated Paul’s suggestions on great places to eat and enjoy delicious craft beer. Next time I’m in Monterrey I would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely 15 minute walk to lots of restaurants. On quiet residential street. Fully stocked kitchen a plus. Appreciated cereal, milk, fruit and bread in morning. 5. Casanova Cove suite (from 118 USD)

This bright and cheery space is little funky but super comfortable! The positive factor about this place is its close proximity to so many wonderful things the Monterey area has to offer. Downtown Monterey is about 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) away or about 10 minutes by car. Freeway access to Highway 1 north and south is very close to this place. The host mentions that Monterey Bay Aquarium guest passes for two are also included in the room rate. A continental breakfast is available before you set out to explore!

Traci’s place is awesome! It’s very conveniently located - it took us about 10 minutes to drive to Cannery Row, the aquarium, and downtown. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, the little apartment was clean and had everything we needed, even a nice breakfast! Her dogs were also adorable! We had to change the date of our trip a couple of times and Traci was extremely accommodating. She is a wonderful host and I highly recommend her!

6. Lovely place to stay close to downtown! (from 129 USD)

Bright, retro and cheerful entire apartment that is located just a few minutes walk from the beach and historic downtown Monterey!

Great location in quiet neighborhood. A couple blocks from Dennis the Menace Park and a 5-10 minute walk to downtown and Fisherman’s Wharf areas. The local garage band were good and didn’t go into the night too long. Nicole stocks the apartment with plenty of snacks and coffee/tea. Place is small but good space for 2 people, any more and could be a bit cramped. Highly recommend the Richard living option. He is a sweet and quiet cat and super cuddly. Loves to snuggle, play, look out the window and enjoys watching Parks and Rec via Netflix on the Laptop. His only downfall….he does not realize he isn’t kitten size Would rent again our next time down if place were available. Thanks Nicole Drew and Lena

Alan was an amazing host - he was not present during our stay, yet was very communicative and really went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. His home is beautiful and luxurious - it looks like something out of an interior design magazine! Would definitely stay here again.

9. Forest getaway in Monterey! (from 176 USD)

This is a comfortable, one bedroom apartment with a cozy couch and an electric fireplace to keep you warm, in the privacy of Skyline Forest. Enjoy the natural beauty of Big Sur and experience world class golf courses. Shopping can be done in Carmel by the Sea. There is an MST bus that goes down Skyline Drive, but it travels to this neighborhood infrequently. The best way to get to the apartment from the Monterey Airport would be with a cab.

Steven was taking care of us during the two days stay. He is a conversationalist and very nice to everyone. We talked a lot and he also invited us to join the live music show in the downtown with his friends. That is the major reason to stay in AirBnB, not in hotel. The house is located in the wood. It is quiet, peace, also very dark during the night. We met four deers passing the road 50 meters away from the house when we drove back at night. That was amazing experience!

The neighborhood is a mixture of industrial and homes or apartments. It is located right off Highway 1 and conveniently close to all the Monterey peninsula has to offer. It is within walking distance to the beach.

My family had a wonderful time at Dana’s. Plenty of space for everyone and the hot tub was amazing to soak and relax in after a day of sightseeing. We really appreciate Dana’s prompt and open communication throughout the process. We could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the all the amenities that were provided. Would definitely book again!
