Dartmouth was one of my favourite towns in all of Devon. In fact, I’d go so far as to claim that this pretty port town on the River Dart is one of the cutest places I’ve seen in all of England.
During your stay here, take one quick ferry ride across the water to enjoy the following activities:
- Explore it’s pastel-coloured streets. Foss Street is perfect if you’re short on time like me.
- Visit Dartmouth Castle.
- Grab a local pint in a medieval pub. I absolutely loved The Cherub Inn.
- Pick up some fish and chips and watch the world go by at the harbour.
- Try the famous Salcombe Dairy ice cream.
I wish I had more time here, but if a city can make such a grand impression in just a few short hours, then you know it’s got to be doing something right!

The Pink House is an adorable, baby pink home, located in the heart of the city. It is so lovely that no one would guess it was originally a jail, built in the late 18th century! The interior is cozy and homey, with its use of warm tones, wooden furniture, and comfy beds and couches. Though the house is nearly 250 years old, it has several modern amenities, including, WiFi, a television, heating, and a dishwasher. Additionally, it has amenities needed for families with small children, such as a travel crib and a highchair.

Gallant Quays is an apartment located on the bank of the River Dart, only a short walk to the center of town and in close proximity to the Dartmouth Castle, as well as several cafes, restaurants, and bars. The apartment is airy and well lit, due to its multiple windows and large, sliding glass doors. The glass doors lead to a charming little garden that provides a breathtaking view of the river.
The accommodation itself is a ground floor studio-style apartment with private entrance and includes a double bed and sofa bed, seating area and small kitchen, with everything from an oven to a microwave and a washing machine. This vast home is perfect for family vacations. It can accommodate up to six people and is also in the city center, near a variety of places, so everyone in the family will be able to find something that he or she enjoys. Shopping lovers will love the shops and boutiques located near the house. Foodies will not have to go far to sample delicious food, as there are many restaurants, pubs, and cafes close to the house and children will love the game console, books, and toys.
The cottage has a fully equipped, modern kitchen with all the gadgets and even has a slow cooker. This accommodation is modeled to resemble a stylish hotel room. Between the crisp white sheets, contemporary decor, and immaculate rooms, anyone could mistake Penwill for an upscale hotel. The only difference is that this accommodation is only a fraction of the price of a high-quality hotel. In fact, the host was a former hotelier, working in some of the finest hotels in the world and so understands what is needed to bring their accommodation to a high luxury standard. The rental includes two bedrooms and a sofabed and can accommodate up to seven guests with a variety of bed configuration options. It is in a serene and peaceful neighborhood, in the center of Dartmouth. The city’s nightlife and top attractions are easy to reach from Penwill, however, the quiet neighborhood will allow you to rest and relax, after a long day of exploring all that the city has to offer.

The name of this house may have you thinking this is a dark, musty home. But, this could not be further from the truth. The Blacksmiths House was where the blacksmiths of Dartmouth lived, centuries ago. It is modern, airy, and simply chic. Its almost all white decor, carefully placed art pieces, and use of soft accent colors make this home elegant and charming.
This home is so lovely you may not want to leave, however, its location, in the center of the city, makes it incredibly convenient to navigate the city. It comes equipped with all modern amenities, including WiFi, cable TV, and a microwave. The apartment offers you a kitchen with lounge/dining area, a double bedroom, and a bathroom, with shower.
