Hintertux is the name given to the glaciers of the Gefrorene-Wand-Kees by tourists. It is the only place in Austria where you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding all year long. The area boasts over 37 miles (60 km) of slopes for beginners to experts. From October to May enjoy the freestyle slopes with their powder snow that lasts well into spring. Hintertux is also the home of Spannagel Cave, the highest altitude cave open to the public in all of Europe. From October through May take the kids on the one-hour guided tour and learn all about the rock formations found inside.
