10. Shepherd’s Barn (from USD 76)
Shepherd’s Barn is a converted barn in a quiet, peaceful location. It has excellent views of the Somerset Levels and Glastonbury Tor. The barn has basic kitchen facilities such as a double gas ring, a sink, cooking and eating utensils. It also has a wood burning stove. The barn is completely private and only for guests. Hosts are accessible via phone though if there are questions about the place or the area. Parking is available, but in rainy periods, cars must be parked at the bottom of the field and guests will have to walk to get to the barn.
The barn is primarily powered by solar panels with batteries or a petrol generator. This is all you should need, along with candles that are supplied. Fuel is provided for your stay and if the amount given is exceeded, more will need to be purchased, as the idea is to keep the generator use to a minimum. A fridge is not on the property, but a cool box with ice blocks is available. A gas boiler provides hot water for showers and the kitchen sink. Due to these constrictions and its remote locations, Shepherd’s Barn only does rentals from March to October.

The bedroom is light and airy with a king size bed. There is a small terrace that gets a lot of sun, and is provided with a barbecue and outdoor furniture.
