Uvita is located on the southwest coast of Costa Rica. It’s known for hosting the famous Envision Music Festival and, more importantly, its proximity to the Marino Ballena National Park. There’s room for up to two guests in this beautiful house. The hosts have done what they can to make this house the most beautiful home away from home you could ever want. The house is close to the town of Uvita, and amazingly, right next door to the Uvita Falls with bamboo-lined hiking trails and amazing natural swimming pools. Within your room, you have a double bed as well as storage, so you can pack away your belongings and make yourself feel at home. There’s free onsite parking as well as a complimentary laundry service. The hosts are always nearby to give you advice on various available activities.

This beautiful A-frame cabin is on the same property as the previous A-frame. Again, there’s room for three guests – two in the upstairs mezzanine and one on the downstairs sofa bed. You can enjoy the entire cabin and socialize with some of the other guests on the property, which includes a swimming pool and a large garden. There’s also a secure parking area. If you’ve not driven into town, don’t worry: The cabins are also close to the local public transport links. The cabins are built in the middle of a rainforest, so it would be silly not to explore the place while you’re here!

my biggest concern was no air conditioning but we were very comfortable with just fans

The cabin has a large kitchen, with more than enough bits and pieces for you to settle in and cook a feast. The house is only a short 500-meter (546.8-yard) walk from the beach, so you can even head out for a picnic lunch. The cabin is a recent build and is full of mod cons – including running hot water! There’s free parking available as well as air conditioning – which you’ll definitely need when you’re in the jungle.

Enjoy this cabin, which is perfect for a couple on a quick getaway. This cabin is located on the same plot of land as all the A-Frames earlier mentioned but has more of a rustic feel. The cabin has a bedroom and bathroom inside the house, but you really get to feel at one with nature with its outdoor kitchen. Don’t worry about some nasty winter weather – you’re in the middle of a rainforest!

This beautiful, affordable cabin is perfect for a quick weekend getaway. The house is close to the beach, where you’re bound to spot some wildlife – including dolphins and whales! You have the cabin to yourself, which includes a bedroom with two double beds, a basic kitchen, and living room. The kitchen may look basic, but it contains everything you’ll need to cook. With the heat in the area, you’re not going to want to be cooking big meals. Be warned though that there’s no hot water available at the property, and the hosts have pre-warned you to bring plenty of sun cream and bug repellent. There are also bikes available for rent.

10. Hostel La Ballena

This beautiful hostel is basically a beachfront hotel! While you’re here, it would be silly not to spend a good portion of your time at the beach, looking at the beautiful water. The hostel has set up a beautiful seating area under almond trees, with the water in the background. The hostel is a slightly longer walk away from the amenities – but its location makes up for it. Less than 3 km (1.86 mi) away, you can find a host of restaurants, cafes, and shops.
