The great thing about Canadian food and food culture is that it is so incredibly diverse. Since the land mass of Canada is so huge it offers so many different kinds of tastes for all the different regions it occupies. Victoria B.C is located on the west coast of Canada and is on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It’s right near the border and only about sixty miles (100 km) to Seattle. Named after Queen Victoria the island and region have a long history with First Nations people giving the city a certain cultural flair between European and First Nations. British Columbia is incredibly diverse and that certainly reflects the food around Victoria. So if you’re in the area and are looking for something good to eat, why not try out some of these favorites.

1. Ferris's Oyster Bar
Editor's Note: There's no photo available at the time of writing
Since Victoria is on the west coast of Canada you can bet you’ll be able to find some great seafood. Ferris’s Oyster Bar has some of the best seafood around the island and if you’re not the type of person who enjoys seafood, there’s still something for you. Upstairs you’ll find the oyster bar and downstairs you’ll find a more grill/BBQ type menu. The upstairs oyster bar is where you’ll find some great seafood plates and dishes and if you’re not super hungry that’s fine too because you can order small tapas style plates and sit back with some wine.
