That this cottage is on the shores of the Detroit River is no exaggeration. You simply have to sit on the front deck and you can just about dangle your feet into the water. The hosts have made it easy to enjoy sitting outside and listening to the water, by setting up recliners and a hammock, and also providing a grill and fire pit on the small private beach. Exploring the area is easy and highly recommended. There is a bike path along the main road that will take you right into town or along the wine route. The shores of Lake Erie and Point Pelee National Park are also close by. 5. Only a bike ride away from Niagara Falls! (from USD 163)

This cottage looks like something right out of the English countryside, except you don’t have to travel across the Atlantic to get there. You barely even have to travel over the US border, since this spot is located only ten miles (16 km) from Niagara Falls–you can even bike there! The outside of the cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens, complete with statues and a trellis. There is also a large screened in porch with plenty of lounge chairs so you can relax without worrying about bugs. The inside of the house is spacious and bright, with comfy furniture and lots of homey touches. Aside from the Falls, the cottage is also close to wineries and the quaint main street of the historic old town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
