Though it lacks the French flair of Quebec and the majestic mountains of British Columbia, the Canadian province of Ontario is full of places to see. There are the exciting metropolises of Toronto and Ontario for your fix of art and entertainment. Experience nature’s wonder at Niagara Falls or the Georgian Bay. Or just wind your way through the smaller cities in the wine country. Whether you are planning to stop at many places on a tour through Ontario, or looking for one location to stay for a while, here are some of the best vacation rentals throughout the province.

1. A cottage with a mix of rustic and industrial design (from USD 153)

This cozy guest house has everything you could want from a vacation rental. The interior decor is a lovely mix of rustic and industrial, with a gas fireplace and a lofted sleeping area. It’s the perfect size for two people, although there is room for children in the loft, and also has a kitchen with all the amenities to cook your own meals. There is a lovely back patio with a bright green glider chair, the perfect spot to have a coffee and relax.

The location of this cottage in the southern Ontario wine country could not be beat. It is right on the shores of Lake Erie where you can rent kayaks, go on a nature hike, and swim at Cedar Beach in warmer months. There are several museums nearby including the Canadian Transportation and Underground Railroad museums. The house is located on the same latitude as northern California and southern Spain, giving it mild winters and making it the perfect place to visit year round.
