San Salvador is a little island in The Bahamas, that rumour has it, was the first island Columbus spotted when travelling to the new world. He named it San Salvador after Christ the Savior. Columbus then made a landfill on the island, thinking he reached the East Indies. During the 17th century, an English pirate named John Watlings named the island after himself and the name stuck for a while. Finally, the Spanish colonized the island, formally giving it its name. Today the small island of just under 1000 people has a bustling tourist industry, fuelled by the beautiful white sand beaches and vibrant coral reefs. Book a stay at one of these amazing Vrbo accommodations on San Salvador and discover it yourself.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on March 13, 2023.
