Ubud might be Indonesia’s most famous and certainly one of the most popular destinations. Ubud is located on the island of Bali, and don’t be surprised if you end up staying here for weeks rather than your planned weekend getaway (or even months). Full of great restaurants, cafes, shops and much more, Ubud has a great mix of locals, backpackers, and expats, so the town has somewhere to stay for every budget.

Want to find out what you can see and do in Ubud before you book accommodation? Here are my recommendations!
1. Visit the Tegallalang Rice Fields. There is so much to see here! You can walk around the rice terraces and explore the whole park, take photos in birds’ nests and beautiful platforms, swing over the rice fields, and even bike through the sky! Trust me, it’s so worth it!
2. Go waterfall hunting. There are many incredible waterfalls around Ubud. You should rent a bike or go on a private tour and take a day to explore the incredible waterfalls hidden in the Balinese jungle!
3. Check out the Monkey Forest! The Monkey Forest is truly a wonderful place. Monkeys are free to roam around and jump from tree to tree in the presence of visitors. Be careful though; remember that they are wild animals and not tourist attractions and be respectful of the rules.
4. Stay at a bamboo villa! It is the coolest experience ever, especially if, like me, your villa has the most incredible rice field as a view.
5. Walk the Campuhan Ridge. It’s a small hike, so no worries for my non-athletic people (like me)! It’s really close to the centre of Ubud and is a truly nice way to get some exercise and just walk for a little while without worrying about being hit by a bike.

Tip from Content Creator
This property is only a 22-minute drive from one of Bali's most popular attractions - Scared Monkey Forest Sanctuary. It's the best place to interact with macaque monkeys! This is an open-air sanctuary where the monkeys roam freely in nature. It’s a beautiful park and the monkeys are generally friendly. Just make sure to follow all the rules to a tee.
- No touching the monkeys! Let them do their natural thing in the wild.
- No outside food. Even if it's in your bag, they will find it!
-There's a lot of walking and it's hot. Dress accordingly!
- The monkeys are very curious and will want to investigate you and your bags. Stay calm and they will eventually leave.
