Eaglenest or Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area of India, and it is located in the foothills of West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. 500 bird species, including the white-breasted nuthatch, red-headed trogon, Indian scimitar babbler, and flycatchers. Located approximately 13 km (8.07 mi) from Pasighat, Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary spans across a group of beautiful river islands. The only way to reach this wildlife sanctuary in Arunachal Pradesh is to take a cruise on the Siang River. Regarded as one of the state’s finest sanctuaries, the place got its name from Dr. D Ering, a local politician. The sanctuary is well known for different species of migratory birds that fly all the way from Siberia and Mongolia. Part of this place is covered with water, thus making it an ideal abode for migratory birds such as storks, waterfowls, and wild ducks. However, the forested island is also home to deer, hogs, hares, wild buffalos, and elephants, among others. The most suitable time to visit is between the months of December and February.
