Located on the coast of Oregon, Cannon Beach is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Not only does the coast provide exceptional beauty but it is also a historic landmark. The area around what is now Cannon Beach is the home of the Tillamook tribe. Explorer William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, made his way here in 1805 with the help of Sacagawea. Upon arriving, he was met by Tillamook tribe members who were harvesting the blubber of a beached whale, which is why a wooden whale sculpture stands here to commemorate the event. Besides the beach, the area is rich with nature and things to explore such as Tillamook Rock Lighthouse, Neahkahnie Mountain, and the waterfalls at Hug Point. If you’re looking for a unique stay close to a beach, check out these top yurts near Cannon Beach, USA.
