1. Stylish off-grid retreat at Fox Oak Farm, Greentown (from USD 140)
Look forward to a memorable retreat in the countryside by booking with Fox Oak Farm in Greentown, Pennsylvania. This yurt for rent offers a stylish glamp in a secluded spot of a 40-acre (16.19-hectare) farm property. Walk or hike the various trails that surround the area, or check with the host if you can take a look at the farm’s daily happenings.
The yurt is mostly off-grid but uses solar power for electronics, and propane for other appliances. You’ll have water for the bathtub but the eco-toilet uses an incineration system and is not connected to plumbing.
For day-long nature excursions, you can head north to Lake Wallenpaupack which is one of the most gorgeous lakes in Pennsylvania, or east to Promised Land State Park. Both are just 10 minutes away from the property and are great locations to go swimming, picnicking, and fishing.
Guest Reviews:
This was our pit stop when traveling north, and it was nice to stop at a place surrounded by nature. The toilet was intimidating at first, but honestly, very easy to use. We loved the whole place was off grid. The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. The outside area is also very nice. A great place to stay, in our opinion. - Jan
Niki’s yurt was perfect for a couple’s getaway! It was so peaceful, quiet, and serene. The location was perfect and within 5 minutes from local restaurants and bars, which was great. The site also had good cell reception and wifi, which was a huge plus for staying in touch with family back home. We are planning on coming back! - Beth (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania)
2. Cosy, pet-friendly yurt tent surrounded by trees, Hallstead (from USD 115)
You’ll feel like you’re in an exclusive and secluded getaway in the middle of the forest while staying at this yurt in Hallstead. Nestled in an expansive 460 acre (186.16 hectare) farm, this glamping spot will grant you plenty of space to hike, bike, and even explore the surrounding areas.
The yurt itself acts as the bedroom, while other amenities are around the yurt site. There is an outdoor kitchen with running water and a stove. For bathing, the outdoor shower has hot water available. There’s also an outdoor toilet connected to plumbing so you can enjoy a loo that has a flush. There’s no electricity, however, so you’ll have to rely on the solar-powered lights, or use your lamps and flashlights during the night. While the yurt is pet-friendly, the host requests not to let the pets on the bed.
The hosts can take you on a tour of the farm for free. You can also purchase supplies such as firewood for the firepit, as well as fresh produce and eggs harvested from their vegetable gardens and chicken coops.

- This site has everything you need for an incredible glamping experience. The area feels very secluded and private, surrounded by beautiful woods. The yurt was very clean, along with a spotless bathroom and an amazing outdoor shower with hot water. The kitchen was a bonus, having pots, pans, plates, and even some spices. There is also a nice trail in the back, which was so nice to have. On top of all of this, Heather and Jim were very friendly and responsive hosts. This yurt is a great getaway, where you don't even feel like you need to leave the site because you have everything at your fingertips, while also being within nature. We definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and unwinding little vacation. - Nicole
3. Beautiful, rustic yurt from the 1920s, Ohiopyle (from USD 54)
Looking forward to yurt camping in Pennsylvania? This lovely glamping spot in Ohiopyle is a yurt with a long history. Situated in Rafferty Manor in the Ohiopyle State Park, the yurt was first built in the 1920s, and is now managed by an artist. This yurt might be an oldie, but you don’t have to worry because it is very well kept with all the amenities you’ll need for a comfortable stay.
It is a great accommodation for friends and couples since there are two single beds, perfectly lined with linens and pillows. The hardwood floorings and a real wood burner is also included in the yurt so you don’t have to worry about the cold evenings. There’s a changing house with separate sections for men and women next door, used as a bathroom during the warmer seasons.
