A day trip to the area of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia is great for wine lovers. The region is known as the capital of cava (sparkling wine) and can be reached by car or train from Barcelona within an hour. There's over 80 wineries/vineyards to choose from, but I highly recommend going to Gramona for a private tour. There are two fascinating aspects about Gramona which make it a worthwile vineyard to visit. First, Gramona was founded back in the 18th century and has been owned by the same family since (now in its 6th generation). Second, what's unique about Gramona is that it follows organic and biodynamic practices on the vineyard.
