Taking your one-year-old to a museum sounds like an impossible task. Thankfully, Rancho Cordova’s Sacramento Children’s Museum makes it feasible for children from birth to eight years to explore exhibits without having to drag them. This fun and interactive museum offers a host of educational experiences for the youngsters - crafts, dress-up games, science exhibits, storytelling, train tables, and so on. It functions more as an educational play facility than a plain museum. Consider holding birthday parties for the kids here. For sure, it will turn out awesome.

The railroad’s mainline measures 6300 feet (1920 meters), not counting the sidetracks, located within the beautiful Hagan Community Park. The outdoor setting adds to the realness and thrill of the riding experience. The train takes you through the woods, over the bridge, and out in the grassy grounds. This well-maintained neighborhood park has facilities for your favorite sports: soccer and basketball. Your kids are welcome to use the open-wide grassy fields for frisbee, baseball practice, jogging, dance rehearsal, or any other outdoor activity. You can watch over the younger ones as they climb the monkey bars and slide up and down the play area while you savor sandwiches at the picnic tables. The place has fewer crowds, perfect for taking a breather on random days. Better yet, bring your favorite book and use the lovely space as your reading nook.

6. River Bend Park
One of Rancho’s oldest parks, River Bend Park is homely and earthy. This place gives off small-town vibes that will remind you of your own hometown. If you know about small towns and you are from one, you’ll have familiar feelings of nostalgia when you visit this park. Deer and turkeys run wild here, so be careful, this is a great place for a picnic – with a gorgeous picnic area. Like any park, this one is open year-round from dawn to dusk. It has a wonderful hiking area and you are welcome to bike here, too! If you want to relax and see the wonderful views of Rancho, this is the place for you. Even if you want to just rest here and stop driving for a few hours to take a relaxing break – this will do for you, as well. You will not regret going to a place like this any day or anytime – seeing nature is one of the best things traveling brings to us when we travel to different places. The views are breathtaking and I would not miss them for the world at River Bend Park.

7. Root of Happiness Kava Bar
Root of Happiness Kava Bar is not just any coffee bar, it is something better. From the inside, it does not resemble a normal coffee bar, it has a darkly lit, nightclub look to it, with a Tiki theme that gives the place such a good vibe.
They have a happy hour from 4pm - 7pm and a lady’s nights on Wednesdays. This is a very chill and relaxing place to come to in the evening if you just want to stop for coffee or tea. They have specialized drinks and I would recommend you check them out if you are ever in the area.
The experience here will be memorable and if anything, you will walk out having tasted some really creative and awesome drinks that you are going to share all over Instagram! This place is one of my favorite places to go to when I am in Rancho. If you are ever visiting or passing through, please check this place out – they will not disappoint.

8. Granite Arch Climbing Center
Posted by Granite Arch Climbing Center on Wednesday, 3 October 2012
Granite Arch is a place you do not want to skip out on. Indoor climbing is such a fun experience for anyone and everyone - families, friends, couples and anyone else who wants to join in. The place is spacious and this is a great place to start even if you have never done indoor climbing.
You can rent the equipment and above all, you can take a lesson prior to climbing on your own so you know how it works and how to be safe. If you are under 18 then you have to sign a waiver, but if you are a parent going with your children then you will be right there to sign it for them. If they are going by themselves I would keep that in mind.
The other climbers will help and be encouraging, the atmosphere is so delightful and it is a great place to visit. If you want to have a fun day with your significant other, family or friends, this is the place for you. Do not skip out on Granite Arch!

If you are traveling with friends or a significant other – you can all have fun in this all day, all night casino.
They have a restaurant and bar here, so if you do not want to gamble and maybe your friends do you can always just hang out at the bar or restaurant. The food is A+ and they have specialty fries that are worth checking out! If you are traveling with children or any child younger than at least 18, I would advise to skip out on this. However, if they are not with you, then this is totally yours to try out.
