Quebec City is located in Quebec Province, Canada. It’s one of the oldest cities in North America, and still holds tight onto its French roots. Unsurprisingly, it’s a Unesco World Heritage Site, because of its forts, old buildings, and cobbled, narrow walkways. It’s the city’s wintry months that really bring out its joie de vivre, with colourful winter festivals sweeping the streets. Fluffy snow covers the rooftops of the charming stone buildings, and many attractions open during this time for skiing, visiting ice sculptures, and drinking the city’s liquid sunshine, Caribou.

Compact and quaint, Quebec is a great city for you to experience through lovely, quiet walks. Combined with its chilly weather, it makes for a great winter wonderland for you and your friends to explore! Here are the top HomeAway and Vrbo vacation rentals in Quebec City with that fairytale feel. These rentals provide a great base from which to discover the city.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. The image galleries get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on July 16, 2022.

1. Quaint apartment with city views (from USD 45)

The bedroom.
Source: Homeaway

With such a well equipped kitchen, it’s easy for visitors to save money on things like dining out. You can opt to use fresh, local ingredients and live like a Québécois. Similarly, the minimum stay here of 30 days really lets you experience an authentic version of Quebec. Are you looking for something affordable and luxurious? Stop looking because we’ve found somewhere great for you to stay. Enter an apartment with large windows, the quaintest decor, and regal looking green walls. The bedroom, in a lighter, calmer colour, is spacious and clean. It even has a painting hanging over the bed to make it feel even more homey. What a calming sight for sore eyes at the end of a busy day. From the large windows of your apartment, feel free to people-watch the day away. You could also spot other monuments, natural or manmade, in the city.

And all this for approximately 39 USD? It’s a complete steal if you ask me. Learn more in the details below.

2. Charming loft in Old Quebec (from 53 USD)

Upon entering, visitors might express disbelief that this is where they will stay, because it is just too beautiful. This loft’s rave reviews are also telling. Charming is really an understatement, as its brick walls, wooden floors, and its light aura really do create a breathtaking atmosphere. It is easy to see just how carefully the hosts considered your comfort. The slightly distressed cupboards, vintage plates, and stained glass lamp just adds to and enhances the character of the loft’s design. Some days, you might even want to stay at home and soak in the atmosphere of this accommodation. Up stairs in this accommodation is a loft bed lies with bedding in the same theme as the rest of the apartment. There’s also a sofa bed in the living room, so if there are two couples or a family staying here, you will be able to enjoy some privacy.

Another great thing about this apartment is the location. It has a direct view on the Laurentian Mountains and Esplanade Park. You can even walk to the Plains of Abraham from here.

With wonderful reviews, an array of charms, and a winning location, wouldn’t it be great if you could stay here, too?

3. Family-friendly home near tourist district (from USD 324)

It’s hard to find a house for a big group that still has a personality, but we knew we had to include this listing once we spotted it. Look at the delightful fusion of understated antique tones with the bright pink couch and complimenting painting. The contrast is quite jarring, especially with those original hardwood floors all around the house. The dining room isn’t spared from this contrast either. The convenient, modern appliances adorn one side of the kitchen, so you can prepare meals with ease. However the lights above the table and the brick wall feel aged and characterizes the room. The combination in the bathroom is similar to that of the rest of the house. The rough, rocky walls contrast with the smooth and polished surfaces of the sink and bathtub. Close your eyes and imagine soaking in there after a long day. With this sort of atmosphere, it almost feels like you are in a hot spring! And you will definitely have long days of adventure here, since this house is located one block away from the main tourist district. That means you can enjoy the convenience of the city and the quiet of the suburbs all at once. This spacious, large bedroom is here for you to have a restful night (or morning, if you’ve been out the whole night).

So, if you are looking for a getaway with a larger group or family, this listing suits all your needs. The only problem might be the staircases, since this is a three storey home. The owner lists that you can only rent the place for 24 days or more, but is willing to accommodate whatever situation your group might be in. Need more details?

4. Treehouse-style loft near the river (from 244 USD)

Eye-catching A shaped structure.
Source: Homeaway

Remember all those childhood spy movies and adventure novels where the main characters, probably siblings, had the most epic and functional tree house used to plan their journeys? Those snazzy, magical hideouts were the envy of any imaginative child. You don’t have to envy them anymore! Check out this A-frame loft, complete with its wooden ceiling. Hidden on the top of the loft complex, it gives a sense of cosiness and secrecy. The stairs lead up to a bed with a large window right next to it. Begin your day’s mission by people-watching as soon as the sun comes up. And of course, a balcony leads out to a view as interesting and exciting as the loft itself. Colourful shophouses line the streets, the sky is clear and the river gently flows by. From here, you can see some of the most stunning structures in Quebec City: Frontenac Castle, Côte de la Montagne, the Casse-Cou Steps, and the Petit-Champlain neighborhood.

Hurry and fulfill the adventure desired by your inner child! Learn more in the details below.
