![8 Fun Things To Do In Boracay, Philippines, For Introverts](https://static.trip101.com/main_pics/378912/medium.jpg)
Boracay, a picturesque paradise famed for its sugar-white sand beaches and vibrant nightlife, once had a reputation as a wild party island in the central Philippines. But after undergoing a six-month rehabilitation, it has developed into a holiday destination with wholesome fun activities and family-friendly facilities.
Going there as a wide-eyed college girl was completely different from visiting it with my friends as a young professional. As an introvert seeking a quick mental health break with my nearest and dearest, I was pleased that the world-renowned island offered plenty of options for leisure and relaxation. Before sunset, we went on a lovely cruise aboard a traditional paraw (native-style outrigger sailing boat) and watched fire-dancing at night. I also had an amazing photo session on a crystal kayak and beat the heat with fruity smoothie bowls.
For a rejuvenating vacation, browse through these fun things to do in Boracay, Philippines, for introverts.

1. Try paraw sailing with friends
Take in the salty sea breeze as you relax on board a paraw, a traditional Filipino outrigger canoe sailboat made of wood and bamboo. Paraw sailing is one of the sought-after excursions in Boracay for those who want to view the glorious sunset. It was a bit cloudy when my friends and I went cruising, but it was still a unique way to explore the island’s crystal-clear waters while riding a local handcrafted boat. The boatmen also provided us with life jackets for safety.
Aside from the paraw sunset cruise, you can try different water activities such as cliff diving, parasailing, and banana boat riding. We also joined an island-hopping tour to see the other beaches.
2. Appreciate the postcard-worthy sunset
During the golden hour, tourists and locals gather with their family and friends at White Beach to catch a glimpse of Boracay’s breathtaking sunset. Whenever I visited this tropical island, I would watch this painting-like spectacle and soak up the beauty of nature from the fine sand beach dotted by palm trees. What made the scenery even more captivating was the wonderful silhouette of sailboats drifting on the serene waters.
Aside from White Beach, other spots to witness the magnificent sundown are Diniwid Beach, Puka Beach, and Manoc-Manoc Beach. Mount Luho and Willy’s Rock are also ideal places for sunset viewing.
3. Watch kiteboarding in Bulabog Beach
As a former sports journalist, I covered thrilling international competitions in Bulabog Beach, Asia’s premier kiteboarding and windsurfing destination. Though I never tried these watersports, I had always watched in awe as colorful kites danced in the sky and windsurfers glided over the waves. According to the locals, the idyllic wind conditions are best enjoyed in the peak months of the Amihan (northeast monsoon) season from November to March.
Bulabog Beach is also home to an array of kiteboarding and windsurfing schools offering classes and equipment rentals for newbies and experts, making it perfect for adventure seekers.
4. Soak up the sunshine in White Beach
White Beach is Boracay’s prime attraction, enchanting holidaymakers with its long stretch of powdery white sand and emerald blue waters. This crowd favorite is a jump-off point for water sports and activities, such as scuba diving, snorkeling, and helmet diving. Skimboarding is also famous for youngsters here. There are several bars and pubs for those who are in the mood to experience Boracay’s vibrant nightlife.
On lazy days, we would just sunbathe while reading a book or practice gentle beach yoga before taking a dip. We also strolled while checking out some shops along the popular strip. Therapeutic massage services can be availed, too.
5. Cool off with delicious smoothie bowls
One surefire way to find relief from the heat is by indulging one’s taste buds in refreshing desserts while chilling out in a charming beachfront cafe. Our go-to dining spot in Boracay was Cafe Maruja, featuring al fresco lounges with soothing sea views. It’s where my friends and I would treat ourselves to all-day brunch and delightful fruit drinks in between swimming sessions. Aside from the cafe’s laidback ambiance, we loved its carefully crafted smoothie bowls and artisan pizza.
You’ll also find various food options on the menu, including souffle pancakes, vegan burgers, and Buddha bowls.
6. Have a serene escape in Puka Beach
This hidden gem named after the puka shells that abundantly adorn its shores is a tranquil spot for vacationers who want to escape big crowds. Beach volleyball and paddleboarding are some of the activities enjoyed in this slice of paradise. Puka Beach was part of our island-hopping tour, but due to the limited time we had here, we decided to come back and explore the area without worry.
When we arrived via a tricycle ride, we set up our mats on the pristine white sand and played our beach soundtrack while waiting for the sunset. Its crystal-clear waters and peaceful vibe made it a blissful oasis for beach bums seeking a respite.
7. Witness fire-dancing shows at night
I remember being pleasantly surprised when drum-playing musicians and fire dancers dressed in native attires suddenly appeared during one of the kiteboarding events in Boracay. Aside from this random moment, my buddies and I also chanced upon the jaw-dropping live performance of a man doing spectacular tricks with fire in front of a bar.
Fire dancing is one of the island’s hottest nighttime attractions. The twirling of flames, rhythmic dances, and acrobatics are fascinating sights that entice people to watch these heart-stopping performances usually held next to restaurants and bars.
8. Have a photoshoot on a crystal kayak
Want to go home with gorgeous vacation pictures that are worthy of a spot on your Instagram feed? Flaunt your beach tan and hop on a crystal kayak to have a fantastic photo-op experience amid an alluring natural backdrop. I met my local guide on the shores of White Beach, and he brought me to a scenic spot in the sea where he could snap my shots. Riding the transparent glass boat also allowed me to marvel at Boracay’s calm, turquoise waters.
Many guides are experienced in doing these photoshoots and will even assist you on how to pose. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and bring your own phone or camera for this activity.
Savor a memorable getaway in Boracay
Boracay, a tropical paradise boasting immaculate white sand beaches and watersports opportunities, offers a variety of fun activities for all kinds of travelers.
