Adults Receive Royal Treatment At The Paradisus Cancun!

Located in Pyramid 5 at the northern end of the resort complex, this dedicated, “adults-only” tower (ages 18 & up) includes its own tropical lobby & is allowed access by room key only. Relax and enjoy a glass of complimentary wine or champagne during check-in and make sure to grab a snack from the fabulous “Chef’s Buffet” before heading up to your suite.

Royal Service guests enjoy an array of additional amenities, the most impressive being your own personal butler who you will meet during check-in. Your butler will escort you to your room, explain the services that are available and make sure your room has everything you need. He can assist you with dinner reservations, Bali Bed rentals at the pool & take care of any special requests you may have.

For guests of this exclusive section, a light breakfast is served here daily in addition to the afternoon buffet featuring an exquisite selection of fruits, meats, breads and cheeses. There is a self-serve coffee bar available all day, as well as an impressive, top-shelf liquor & wine bar where you can help yourself to the makings of everything from a martini to a margarita, starting in the late afternoon.

Splurge for the ocean view… You won’t regret it!

Every room at the Paradisus Cancun includes a balcony, offering spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea or Nichupte Lagoon. For the slight additional cost, however, I think the Ocean View Suites are well worth the extra penny. Being able to look out at the aqua-blue water is what a Caribbean vacation is all about to me.

These spacious rooms offer 1 king or 2 double beds, a separate sitting area and a small dining area. There is a flat screen TV, an espresso maker & a small refrigerator/mini-bar, stocked daily with water, beer & soda. Free Wi-Fi is available in the room and ranges all the way to the beach for those who need to stay connected. There is ample storage space and a large marble bathroom featuring a separate “toilet room” & tub/shower combination. You will also find a full array of high-end toiletries.

The real highlight of this suite however, is the spacious balcony. Wake up to the sunrise while sipping your morning coffee, read a book in the afternoon or enjoy a perfect glass of wine before dinner. The unspoiled view of the ocean, compete with palm trees and the white sand beach, is the ultimate vacation bonus.


Peaceful pool… or balmy beach?

”Royal Service” has its own private pool area, complete with Bali Beds, an outdoor restaurant which serves breakfast & lunch, and its own bar. There is plenty of space and an adequate number of lounge chairs.

There are several other pools within the resort complex, but the tranquility here cannot be matched. Cool off with a swim in the pool, chill out listening to the soothing music, read a book or indulge in a nap – this is the place to fully relax! Take advantage of the cushioned, shaded, Bali Beds which surround the pool area. As part of the Royal Service, they are included, but need to be reserved at least 1 day in advance. You can do this through your Butler or at the pool cabana. The cabana is also the place to pick up your towels and use their complimentary sunscreen if you need it.

Or… follow the steps down onto the private, white sand beach. Here you will find plenty of chairs and thatched-roof palapas to provide shade. The water is clear and aqua-blue, with a steady flow of waves. You may experience a few “red flag” days where the sea is a bit rough, but it can still be enjoyable as long as you pay attention.

While this is not an ideal place to snorkel, you may encounter some small schools of fish swimming through the water. It is however, a great stretch of beach for walking and you can travel a good distance in either direction if you feel like exploring. Or simply relax and stare out at the sea, while you wait for the Royal Service waiter to bring you a cocktail!
 


Excellent meals, even at the buffet!

With 11 on-site restaurants, it’s almost impossible to try them all! Breakfast and lunch are served mainly at the buffet (definitely get a table outside to enjoy the view), and provides plenty of variety. Made-to-order omelets, fresh juices, meats, breads & Mexican entrees are just some of the items available in the morning. For lunch, you will find fresh seafood, pastas, vegetables and much more. The “Market Grill,” which is located at the outdoor end of the buffet, is also an option for lunch & dinner and offers delicious pizza, salads & grilled meats off an alacarte menu.

For dinner at the specialty restaurants, you’ll need to have a reservation. In Royal Service, they can be made up to 2 days in advance at the reception desk or through your Butler. Try “Vento” for Mediterranean-style tapas, “Fuego” for a Latin-themed menu or “Bana” to satisfy your sushi cravings. “Mole,” offers traditional Mexican fare, complete with a live Mariachi Band to create an authentic culinary experience.

There is a dining option for everyone here and the quality, presentation & selection are definitely above average for an all-inclusive. Even the buffet offers an amazing variety of fresh, flavorful foods. The service is attentive at the restaurants and it is easy to make reservations through the Royal Service desk for several nights at a time.

Definitely hit the spa & fitness center to relax & rejuvenate…


The YHI Spa at the Paradisus is serene and calming, served by a friendly and accommodating staff. Enjoy the “water & stone rituals,” spa pool & steam room, free of charge, and be sure to check out the daily spa specials. We took advantage of a “Chocolate Scrub & 50-Minute Massage” for less than 120 USD, which was a true delight.

It’s easy to overindulge at an all-inclusive. But don’t worry… this resort has a full gym with treadmills, elliptical machines, and a full circuit of weight training apparatus and free weights. They also offer a variety of fitness classes, with a schedule that can be picked up at the front desk.
