airbnb Honolulu

Maybe your honeymoon was decades ago and you want to rekindle or relive that newly-wed spark. It may actually be time for your own dreamy honeymoon! Or, perhaps you’re just looking for somewhere that bit extra special to enjoy with your significant other. Honolulu, Hawaii’s largest city, is the most remote city of its size in the world. You get to keep all your modern comforts and explore somewhere truly wonderful and romantic, but it’s definitely far away from your noisy neighbours and pesky in-laws.

Here are some great Airbnbs to enjoy on your romantic Honolulu escape:

1. Super affordable private room downtown, close to Waikiki Beach (from 52 USD)

Waikiki is an upscale area, with posh dining and clubs and expensive hotels. But with this Airbnb recommendation, you get to have a splash in a flash without spending too much cash at only 51 USD per night. You and your partner will be able to stay in a private room in a newly renovated house. It’s located close to common amenities, such as the airport, Walgreens, and Safeway. If you’re thinking of checking out universities here for your kids in the future, you’re in luck, as it’s also close to the University of Hawaii and the Hawaiiian Pacific University. The hosts also provide car rental, and can lend you a boat, snorkelling equipment, and other equipment for fun on the water. Parking is free, whether you borrow their car or rent your own. Guests also have access to a smart TV with Wi-Fi and with access to Amazon Prime movies and TV shows. The place is also suitable for events, and they will consider letting your pets come with you too! An unbeatable price, many facilities, and warm and inviting hosts give you plenty of reasons to check this place out!

Saranya was a thoughtful and fantastic host. She sent out very detailed information prior to out trip making our stay hassle free. The room was clean and comfortable. The welcome card in the room was such a warm feeling! The 24hr 7-11 across the street was a nice plus too. Sicong

Check out these pictures and you’re sure to agree that they are definitely magazine worthy. The cosy, light-filled rooms with blue accents look like they are straight out of a fancy catalogue. This Airbnb studio apartment is located in the Waikiki district itself. On average, a hotel room during the holiday season in this district is twice the price of this property. It’s got a fully equipped kitchenette as well, so you can make your own romantic dinner for two. On top of the great view, the apartment itself has been painstakingly decorated to reflect the theme of clear skies and beaches that people from all over the world come to Hawaii to chase. There is also a big pool and a hot tub on the 7th floor, open until 11 pm.

Wonderful experience! The apt. truly is in a perfect location and does have amazing views of the sunrise. Laura sent us a lot of details beforehand about things to do and see nearby, which was very helpful. The apartment was airy and clean and the perfect size for the two of us. Highly recommend! Kathy

4. Local gem with a view of Pearl Harbor (from 79 USD)

This studio suite is set in a quiet, local Hawaiian community, far from the maddening tourist crowd. On first sight, it reminds one of Lilo’s house in Lilo and Stitch. It’s a no-frills place for a couple really wanting to spend time away from the hectic city, with an idyllic view of the sunset at Pearl Harbor. The owners are travel fans as well, so they provide a fuss-free booking experience on their property. It comes with many basic amenities, and has beach gear like snorkels, beach mats, and boogie boards you can borrow. This place is a little farther from downtown and the Waikiki district, but if you want to spend a day at the beach, there are many buses there. There are no problems with late check in as the lock is a combo lock. If you wish to make your way down to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, it’s only 10 minutes away by car. Be assured that you won’t be late for your flight here, since the airport is only 5 minutes away by car as well.

Met Michael and Cristina briefly upon my arrival and felt comfortable immediately. The studio is charming with the only entrance being a double-pane sliding glass door with screen accessed by the porch/balcony. Public transit is nearby with access to major areas of the island. The area seems suburb/rural as you can be awakened or greeted by chicken(s) in the morning. Since I was from the area and understand big city life, ambient noises do not bother me as much… Mitch
