9. Six-bedroom home in Sangre de Cristo

Red River is an important stop in the 84-mile (135 km) Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway, which starts and ends in Taos, New Mexico. Tourism is the town’s biggest industry. This means that you’ll have plenty of places to visit. This also means that you need a place that looks and feels like home. A three-story Airbnb house should be big enough for a party of 15 people. The grounds are inviting to deer, and since it’s in the mountains, to bears as well (so take care not to bother them). The host insists you drive in a sturdy 4WD if you’re arriving when snow and ice are thick on the ground.
