An old tractor barn doesn’t sound like much but waits for the clincher. What used to be a one-story barn has been renovated to a spacious living space with a living room, kitchen, bedroom, walk-in shower, and a separate toilet. They call it “The Strawberry Box.” It’s not just a name. The owners of the property grow all sorts of berries! Yum. They also offer access to a terrace where you can revel in the rolling countryside view. Being in the country won’t rob you off of conveniences. Your host will make sure you will have the use of appliances essential to a modern home. There is a wood burner to ward off the chill, but you can always rely on the underfloor heating to see you through cold weather. There are high expectations for a barn designed by an architect. It still looks like a barn, but they put in French windows and equipped the bedroom with a functional telescope. A private patio is a great place to eat meals under pleasant skies (or starry nights). A wood burning stove comes with chopped logs to keep you warm. They could have stopped there, but they made sure your view of the surrounding marshes and fields are stunning as well. This place is for people who want to experience real luxury in the countryside. While it may be a compact space, it offers enough room for two guests who appreciate an organized and fully equipped home away from home.
