Cafe Honore also features a gourmet store - go here if you are looking for imported products, such a cheese or chocolates, or if you are looking for a gift basket. Cafe Honore is in an excellent location and has an overall nice and comfortable atmosphere.

3. Rojo, Verde y Ajo
This small and cozy place is on one of the busier streets in the city. The restaurant has a very extensive menu, with many starter and dessert options. This place is the perfect spot to spend an evening with your loved one. It not only serves delicious drinks and food, but also has great music and excellent service. Rojo, Verde y Ajo is well known for its beef carpaccio and Dulce de Leche volcano.

4. Casa Maria
This exquisite restaurant is the go-to place for special occasions, such as birthdays, Valentine’s Day or anniversaries. It is centrally located and serves delicious local and international food. They regularly change their menu and offer special menus for a set price on certain days of the year. Casa Maria has an extensive wine list, and the fish dishes come highly recommended.

5. La Cumbre

La Cumbre is a little outside of the city, but totally worth the visit! Not only does the restaurant serve excellent food, you will also be able to experience one of the best views of Tegucigalpa. They have a great variety of food options, and although the prices are slightly higher than average, these are meals you won’t forget. La Cumbre is ideal for romantic dinners, and the view is especially nice at night.

6. Cafe Paradiso
This bohemian cafe attracts visitors of all kinds. Many locals as well as international visitors come here and enjoy the great food in a fantastic ambiance. Decorated with many paintings, the cafe is especially popular amongst the more creative people. Every Tuesday, movies are shown here, and poetry readings take place on Thursdays.

7. Don Quijote
Don Quijote offers Spanish cuisine and is said to have some of the best paella outside of Spain. The restaurant also has a wide variety of tapas, and of course - sangria. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and you will surely have a pleasant time here in this easygoing atmosphere, no matter if you come with your family, friends or colleagues. The portions are big and the prices moderate.

8. La Cacerola
This cozy restaurant is famous for its traditional home-made soups, such as the Sopa de Caracol (Conch Soup) or the Sopa Marinera. Apart from soups, tortillas and other local dishes are served. La Cacerola is relatively small and can get busy at times, but it is a must-visit when you are in Tegucigalpa. The best time to go is on the weekends. The restaurant also features a nice, small garden with green surroundings for those who want to sit in the sun.

9. Pollo Supremo
This restaurant never disappoints! Although it can get busy at times, the food is always served in a timely manner, and the quality is good. The portions are big, and everything is priced very moderately. Pollo Supremo also has a decent range of vegetarian options. Pollo Supremo is excellent if you are out with a big group or your family. The location is nice, and it is in a safe neighbourhood.
