Traveler's tips

Must Visit

Liverpool warmly welcomed me as I embarked on an exciting day of exploration. Shiraz Palace, a renowned Persian-inspired culinary paradise, invited me inside. When I saw the menu, I couldn't resist trying the irresistible King Prawns and the mouthwatering Iskender Lamb and Chicken 🤤🤤 Each bite was a burst of flavors that transported me to Persia itself. To complement the meal, I sipped on a refreshing Gin with peach, a perfect match for the delightful feast. The King Prawns and Iskender Lamb and Chicken were truly remarkable, revealing the expertise of the chefs with every delectable bite. To me, Shiraz Palace in Liverpool is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It is THAT good that we went there twice this week even though it’s really pricey (RIP wallet) lol 😩😂

If you want to try traditional food, look for scouse - it's a local dish that is closely associated with Liverpool. It is a hearty stew that has been enjoyed by generations of Liverpudlians. The main ingredients of scouse typically include meat, such as beef or lamb, along with root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and onions. The dish is slow-cooked to perfection, allowing the flavors to meld together and create a rich and comforting meal. Scouse is often served with crusty bread or pickled beetroot, adding a delightful tang to the dish. It is not only a delicious culinary delight but also a symbol of Liverpool's cultural heritage, representing the city's working-class roots and sense of community.

The best place to get Scouse in Liverpool is at the Welsford Bistro in Liverpool Cathedral. Here you can sample the dish and take in the stunning architecture of the Grade I listed Cathedral.
