Of all the fine state parks Delaware has to offer Cape Henlopen State Park has got to be the absolute gem. Located on a former military base. this surfside park offers a myriad of water recreation from beachcombing to kayaking. While many go straight for the beach, it’s important to know this place offers so much more. Hike the scenic loop around the park or bike to Gordon’s Pond Trail where you can see pretty salt marshes. Climb The Observation Tower- a former World War Two relic - for lovely views. At the end of the day watch the sunset at The Point, a locale where the Delaware River meets the Atlantic Ocean making for a picture-perfect scene.
