Zhang Gong Shan Park is made up of Zhang Gong Mountain and Zhang Gong Lake. It is the largest park in Bengbu. From afar, it’s like a picture of mountain and water setting off each other beautifully. Pines and cypresses​ spreading all over the hillside; the beauty of the lake is brought out by the curves of the lakeshore and the willows standing along the lakeshore. To enjoy the scenery of the lake, you can hire a pedal boat to feel the ambience. On the top of the hill sits Wang Huai Tower where you can admire the remarkable view of Zhang Gong Shan Park. The lake is surrounded by the city and three mountains, with Shuang Long Mountain on the east, Xue Hua Mountain and Mei Hua Mountain on the west and Nine Ditches on the south which is the origin of Long Zi Lake. With mountains reflected on the lake, they integrate into a beautiful landscape painting. A little modernisation is added into the picture with a few traffic arteries intersperse on the lake. There are tricycles available for you to shuttle through the scenic area.

White Milk Spring was built to commemorate the 72 martyrs of Huang Hua Gang. It is well-known that when spring water from White Milk Spring is poured into a cup, the water overflows but doesn’t spill. People are also astonished by the coin floating on the spring water. It is surrounded by nature with Jing Shan Mountain at the back and Huai He River in the front. People come here for its history, nature and the strange phenomenon.

Bengbu was once a fishing village where there were lots of mussels and it’s famous by its pearls, therefore they named this park Zhu Yuan (Pearl Garden). Curious what it’s like living in a farmhouse? He Quan Collective Farm offers you a memorable farmhouse experience. Come here and you will know what it’s like waking up with a view of nature with plantations and animals just outside your window. You can choose to set up for the night in a little wooden house or a bamboo house.

To be more involved, you get to participate in picking fruits from a variety of gardens such as pomegranate garden, blueberry garden, peach garden, jujube garden, pear garden and more, which use non-chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Entering Huai He Culture Square, you will be enclosed with impressive buildings like Bengbu Exhibition Centre, Bengbu Grand Theatre, Bengbu Science and Technology Library and all the cultural architecture of Bengbu. Pay a visit to each of them to really blend in with the city culture of Bengbu. Bengbu Exhibition Centre often holds exhibitions, investment fairs and expos. There are always different kinds of theatre performances at Bengbu Grand Theatre. Tuo Hu Lake Nature Reserve is renowned for its aquaculture, eco-tourism and scientific research. It is the habitat of fish, vascular plants, Phytoplankton, Zooplankton, and wild animals with a variety of birds including endangered birds. Some of the birds stay here permanently while some only stop here during migration.

Fishermen have opened floating restaurants on top of Tuo Hu Lake, attracting visitors from different places. There are two options, you either dine in the ship at the side of the lake or dine in the middle of the lake on a small boat while enjoying the ​sunset on the lake. Their speciality is the Tuo Hu crab. Living in the countryside, the people there are rustic and friendly.

9. Embrace nature in Zhui Zi Shan Forest Park

Zhui Zi Shan Forest Park lies in Long Zi Lake scenic area. It is covered with lush greenery and rocks features. What makes it famous is the ‘Eight Big Scenery’ including Ling Long Tower, Stone House and Gingko Trees, 'Eight Small Scenery’ including Parrot Stone, Tiger Stone and Lou Shi (Floor Stone) and last but not least the Qi Yan Si Temple, which is part of Bai Shi Shan Buddhist Culture Park where people can pray.
